Don't judge a Buck by her cover ... I am a professional language service provider, specialising in agriculture and horses, an ageing yet incurable horse girl, but also a language nerd, bookworm and someone whose idea of heaven is a library with an in-house café.
“Ah, you’re the one with the horses ...,” colleagues say, nodding knowingly when we meet (again), sometimes after years, while networking or at events and get talking. I take this as a compliment!
I am not an agency ("all languages, all subject areas"), but a professional translator and editor with both technical and linguistic qualifications, specialising in the fields of agriculture and horses.
I fell in love with horses as a child, which ultimately led to me training as a stud groom at Marbach Principal and State Stud.
Afterwards, I decided to study agricultural sciences and graduated with a master’s degree (Diplom-Agraringenieur).
It was at this point that my second passion, for language, the written and the printed word, emerged and led me into publishing.
After years as a magazine editor and journalist for agricultural and equestrian magazines, I finally realised my dream – and became a translator.
Today, I am fortunate to be able to incorporate all these experiences and passions into my work as a specialist translator for the agricultural and equestrian industry (English/German) and provider of text-related services.
Assume that I will be just as enthusiastic about your product as you are, whether it is a new horse rug or a special feed formula for sheep; that I will familiarise myself with processes, research results, conference reports, whether it is about horses, poultry, milk, olive oil, fisheries, forestry, animal welfare, horticulture, or other topics in the green sector.
